The archtypal late period shoe, the German Swiss Kuhmaul, also called the Bear Paw or Cow Mouth shoe has the square toe with "Slashes" in the leather revealing a contrasting color underneath. A favorite shoe of German mercenaries from the late 15th and into the 16th centuries, as well as English and French nobility.

With a turned sole, this shoe gives you the perfect late period shape while allowing complete freedom of movement for walking or dancing. Made from a soft cow hide leather

These shoes are very close in terms of correct appearance and can accomodate a wide variety of foot widths.
