SUPERIOR VERVELLES

While we were satisfied and sold a lot of our "standard" vervelles,we thought we could do even better.

Vervelles are the "staples" used to secure the aventail to a bascinet (a 14th century medieval helmet popular throughout Europe).

Our new "Superior" vervelles are made from a much more durable brass alloy, and have a much more refined shape than does the standard. They are easy-to-pien, but feature a more durale 3/16" shank.

Raised as they are above the helmet's surface, a thicker leather piece may be used. The hole is also larger, enabling the use of many more materials, such as lucet cords, silk or just plain thong.

Each set will serve for helmets from 12 - 22ga. Made in solid brass.

Sold in packages of 12. While you can use just one set for the average bascinet, two or three, set more closely together, would have been the norm for better helmets during the 14th century.
