14th c. Roundnose bascinet
with segmented occularium (eyeslot)

Like our roundnose sidemounted helmet, this type of bascinet was very common during the later phases of the great Hundred Years' War between the kingdoms of England and France.
This roundnose features a segmented occularium (eyeslot), which contributes to safer play with rebated (steel) or other weapon simulators. And it features our unique Revival hinge, which allows the visor to be interchanged with either a WMA pierced visor or an SCA-style grille (see belw).
Our version also features a full lining and vervelles. An optional 6mm aventail is also available. The helmet bowl is made from unmatched 12ga. mild or 14ga. stainless steel while the visor is 14ga. The visor is also available separately in both mild and stainless steel.

As with all of our bascinets, it comes with a linen liner, but you should expect to remove the liner and stuff it to your own liking before fighting in it. The liner is easy to stitch in and can be removed for washing. As on surviving examples, the draw-string at the top of the liner allows the helmet to be adjusted to the wearer's head and distributes the weight properly around the crown of the head, much like modern military helmets.
