Detailed Description
Export-grade late 14th c. early 15th. pignose bascinet with segmented occularium (eyeslot) 12ga. mild or 14ga. stainless steel!
Size L in stock now in both mild and stainless Taking orders for S-XL on a first-come, first-served basis.

Like our roundnose sidemounted helmet, this type of bascinet was very common during the later phases of the great Hundred Years' War between the kingdoms of England and France.
This version features a segmented eyeslot per the requirements of several re-enactment societies and Western martial arts schools. Where else can you get complete pigface bascinet in 12ga. mild steel, complete with liner and vervelles, for under $500?
Our version also features a full lining and vervelles. An optional 6mm aventail is also available. The helmet bowl is made from unmatched 12ga. mild or 14ga. stainless steel while the visor is 14ga. The hinge pivots are superior and very tightly rolled. No grille interchange is currently available for this style, but the visibility is good.
Size S = 21.5 - 22"
Size M = 22.5 - 23"
Size L = 23.5" - 24"
Siz XL = 24.5 - 24"
Because of the helmet's shape, this is an easy helmet to fit.
As with all of our bascinets, it come with a linen liner, but you should expect to remove the liner and stuff it to your own liking before fighting in it. The liner is easy to stitch in and can be removed for washing. As on surviving examples, the draw-string at the top of the liner allows the helmet to be adjusted to the wearer's head and distributes the weight properly around the crown of the head, much like modern military helmets (photo below is of the same liner on our Hundred Years' War bascinet).
Note that the designers, Revival and Revival Martial Arts cannot warrant the safety of our equipment for any particular activity as we cannot know the uses to which our items may be put. Check with your local safety officer regarding specifics for the activity you are pursuing.
