Detailed Description
Linen Bascinet - style helmet lining
Linen stuffed with cotton
Fits all sizes of bascinets
Our linen helmet liners are drawn from the famous Churburg #15 helmet. While that liner is stuffed with cow hair, we have opted instead for cotton fabric ends, which maintain their shape beautifully and which are completely washable.
Featuring a draw-string at the top, once stitched into the helmet our liners can raise or lower the helmet on the wearer's head, while simultaneously distributing the weight of the helmet properly around the crown of the head, instead of on top.
The lower seam may be easily opened to add or take away material for the wearer's comfort. Then, the lining is simply stitched into the helmet, as shown in Techniques of Medieval Armour Reproduction using waxed linen thread.
Vastly superior to modern foam linings, try the all-natural helmet liner and you'll never want to go back to foam!
Note that the designers, Revival and Revival Martial Arts cannot warrant the safety of our equipment for any particular activity as we cannot know the uses to which our items may be put. Check with your local safety officer regarding specifics for the activity you are pursuing.
